Holdings on Southeast Corner of Jackson Boulevard and Franklin Street Are Purchased by Peter C. Brooks of Boston, Mass.
Frank Parmelee property at the southeast corner of Jackson boulevard and Franklin which was bought at partition sale Monday by John P. Wilson for himself and Thomas D. and David B. Jones, has been sold to Peter C. Brooks of Boston. Only a nomInal consideration was mentioned in the deal, but it is understood that the actual price paid was around $500,000. Perkins B. Bass represented the sellers and Aldis & Co. the buyer in the transaction.
The lot has a frontage of 153 feet on Jackson boulevard and 100 feet on Franklin street, the only improvements being a two story brick structure, occupied as a stable and warehouse by the Parmelee company. The property was valued by the board of review at $484,500, of which $9,000 is in the building. Prior to death of the late Frank Parmelee the property was conveyed to his two sons, John W. and Charles K. Parmelee, When John W. died he left his undivided half interest to the Merchants’ Loan and Trust company, trustee, the income to be given his brother, Charles K. Parmelee, and at his death it was to go to Frank Parmelee, Jr., during his life, and upon the death of the latter the income is to be used to buy fuel for the poor,.

Parmelee Property at Southeast Corner of Jackson Boulevard and Franklin Street to Be Improved With a Wholesale Block.
The Parmalee, property at the southeast corner Jackson boulevard and Franklin street, which Peter C. Brooks of Boston bought from John P. Wilson, Thomas D. and Jones in December is to be improved. with a high class building for wholesalers if present plans do not miscarry. Holabird & Roche are preparing plans for a fourteen story structure to be of a character superior to anything heretofore attempted in that district. No estimate of the cost has been made, but it will probably be not less than $800,000. The lot has a north frontage of 153 feet on Jackson boulevard, 100 feet on Franklin street, 100 feet on Jackson boulevard on an eighteen foot alley at the east, and 152 feet on a ten foot alley at the south, back of which is the Metropolitan Elevated railroad. Permanent light on every side is thus assured and the building ought to attract good tenants.
