The “Howeden,” on the northeast corner of Kinzie and Market streets, and which was formerly the Maulton House, is receiving the finishing touches of the improvements for which $40,000 have been expended. It is a five-story structure, and will accommodate 200 guests at the rate of $2 per day. It will be under the management of Willis Howe, formerly of the Palmer House, and W. S. Eden, the proprietor of the Palmer House barber-shop. It is the intention to place the bar, café, and lunch-room on a par with the leading hotels of the city.
