The Chicago Iron Works of John Tear, on Kinzie street, one block east of the bridge, works 10 men, and has a capital of $10,000 invested in railroad and bridge work, heavy smithing, &c. Value of articles sold or turned out during the year $14,000, using 100 tons of iron and 50 tons of coal.
