THE CHRISTMAS BOXES.-At S. M. Seeley’s, No. 47 Clark street, the Christmas boxes, at fifty cents each, were going off with a rush. Everybody got good candy of Seeley’s own make. The 5,000 boxes will not last long at that rate. They contain $1,500 in beautiful gifts.

NEW BANKING HOUSE.–We call attention to the advertisement of Messrs. Brotherton & Nettelton, Bankers, No. 47 Clark street. They are from Cincinnati, and have been long and favorably known as capitalists and bankers in that city. The Gazette, the Enquirer and Times speak of them in the highest terms, and regret their removal to a more promising field. From the notice of the Commercial we select the following:
Sir. James Brotherton, formerly of the banking house of Gilmore & Brotherton, lately of the firm of Brotherton & Co., and Mr. N. G. Nettelton, ately of the firm of Nettelton, Lowry & Co, have established themselves in the Banking and Exchange business in Chicago, under the firm name of Brotherton & Nettelton. The pleasure of noting their location together in a strange city has only the discount of regret at losing them from banking circles here. Their sound views of their business, acquired by a long experience in it, will be an acquisition to Chicago, now in the process of her financial regeneration, and their honorable course in an extensive banking business here will be a guarantee of the confidence and good will which they will enjoy at the hands of the business men of the city of their new adoption.
Our business and financial circles will give this new house a cordial welcome. We bespeak for them a liberal share of the public patronage.

VALENTINES.—The billing and cooing season among the feverish of both sexes, is close at hand. Any he or she who desires to express his or her “feel-inks” on paper—especially got up as a medium of communication for aching and breaking hearts—of the most costly and elegant description will find at S. M. Seeley’s, No. 47 Clark street, Valentines of every variety, design and price. D. W. Pratt is Cupid’s Agent in this business, expressly authorized to put “Jovyers” on the right track, and thaw the ice of formality by the use of the most soft, tender and endearing expressions of love and courtship, squinting at matrimony.

AESTHETIC.-Our citizens ought to know that Miss Cameron, who has rooms at 47 Clark street, over Brotherton & Nettleton’s Bank, displays marked skill in drawing, painting, and more particularly in the coloring of photographs. We have seen several results of her skill and good taste, and can recommend her to the patronage of the public without hesitation.
