MERCHANT TAILORING.
It is hardly necessary to call attention to the advertisement of the well known clothing house of Scott, Keen & Co., No. 138 Lake street, published elsewhere in this day’s issue. This large establishment is now thoroughly filled with gents’ and boys’ clothing, furnishing goods, trunks, traveling bags, valises—in fact everything necessary to the adornment and comfort of the outer man. The reputation of the firm as merchant tailors is well established. Their manufacturing department is at Newark, N. J., and is superintended by two of the most experienced of the firm. The best articles at cheap cash prices is their motto, and favors the purchaser equally with the seller. Those intending to invest in clothing of any description should give them a call. They will find it to their advantage, both in material and price,.

They do a heavy business in military goods, and have everything for officers’ wear, ready made or to order. They have cut down their prices to suit the decline in gold.

A POPULAR ESTABLISHMENT—The well-known firm of Carson, Pirie & Co. have recently opened a new store at No. 136 Lake street, where they will continue the sale of choice dress goods and dry goods generally, at prices which cannot fail to suit the most economical. The reputation of this firm for fair dealing cannot fail to be appreciated at their new place of business. They will, of course, continue their wholesale business as formerly at No. 20 Lake street.
