Plymouth Bldg.—303 to 305 Dearborn.
Chicago Tribune, October 2, 1898
Ground was broken last week for the new Schoenemann Building to be put up by W. D. Stein at 303 and 305 Dearborn street. S. B. Eisendrath has made the plans for the eleven story structure which will be erected. The original plan of the structure has been somewhat changed. Instead of for offices it will be adapted for occupancy by printing establishments and lofts. The first and second stories will be finished for stores, while the upper floors will be so constructed that they can be made into offices when the demand warrants the change. The building will be fireproof and will cost $75,000.

Purchase of Plymouth Building.
It developed during the week that Robert P. Lamont, vice president of the Simplex Railway Appliance company, was the purchaser of the Plymouth building at 303-305 Dearborn street. In the deed filed for record only a nominal consideration was given, and the sale was made subject to an incumbrance of $140,000.
The property was put on the market a short time ago for $285,000, and it is said the price paid was a little under that figure. The property was bought as a personal investment by Mr. Lamont. It fronts 40½ feet in Dearborn street and Plymouth place, with a depth of 68½ feet, while the building is ten stories high.
R. D. HIlI & Co. negotiated the sale.
