L. J. OTIS, PIONEER REAL ESTATE MAN, DIES IN HIS HOME
Lucius J. Otis, member of a pioneer Chicago real estate family, died yesterday at 2033 Prairie avenue, his home for 62 years. Funeral services will be held there at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, with burial in Graceland cemetery. Mr. Otis was born 75 years ago in Erie county, Ohio, and came to Chicago in 1869 with his father, Frederick Raymond Otis. He managed the estate of his father for many years and also was trustee of the estate of his brother, Charles T. Otis. He remained active in the real estate business until his death, and maintained offices at 37 West Jackson boulevard. Mr. Otis had been treasurer of the endowment fund of the First Presbyterian church since the fund was established. He held memberships in Calumet club and in the Flossmoor Country club.
Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Lucius A. Hine of Highland Park and Mrs. William Sage, who made her home with Mr. Otis. He never married..
