Beers, Clay & Dutton have completed the plans for a beautiful three-story and high basement residence, to be built on the east side of Prairie avenue, between Twentieth and Twenty-First streets, at a cost of $30.000.. It will front 25 feet, with a depth of 90. The front will be constructed of granite and white terra cotta, with a delicate shade of cream-colored brick. The interior will be absolutely fireproof. It will contain fourteen rooms. The reception hall staircase will be finished in mahogany and the dining-room in curly birch, and the rest of the house in Whitewood. The bathrooms will be heated by hot water, and construction will be commenced at once.

One of the more intriguing houses is 2013 Prairie, which was completed in 1894 for William Reid, a local banker. It is the only house on Prairie that has been a single-family-residence for its entire history. The current owner a retired attorney moved in in the late 1960s. The house is of architectural interest because it was the first steel-framed house in the city. Robert Sharoff.
