-A large and brilliant wedding occurred on last Tuesday afternoon. The parties to the contract were Miss Rose Einstein, daughter of Morris Einstein, of the firm of Clayburgh, Einstein & Co.. and Mr. Longini, recently of Paris. The temple of Sinai congregation, at the cor. Indiana av. and 21st st., was the scene of the ceremony. Long before the time appointed for the ceremony arrived, people began to assemble, and when the bridal party reached the temple, every available spot in it was occupied by spectators, and the thoroughfares in the vicinity were threnged with men, women and children, anxious to catch a glimpse of the bride and her attendants. The right aisle leading to the altar was cleared, and shortly after 5 p.m. the organ struck up the “Lohengrin” wedding march, and the wedding party entered and proceeded with measured pace to the altar, passing beneath a lovely floral horse-shoe from which depended a large wedding bell, and on either side of which were white doves bearing the monograms of the bride and groom. At the altar they formed a semicircle, the happy couple taking their position in front of the Rev. Dr. K. Kohler, who performed the ceremony in a very impressive manner. At the conclusion the newly-wedded led the way from the temple by the north aisle, to Mendelssohn’s Wedding March.
The bridal party and a large number of invited guests proceeded to Standard Hall, at the corner of Michigan av. and 13th street, where the event was formally celebrated; they have been received in splendid fashion. After all had arrived, Mr. and Mrs. Longini were escorted to the dancing hall, where they received the congratulations of all present, and then the guests descended to the supper-room where a superb banquet was spread. The tables were laden with good things and were decorated in a lovely manner with cut flowers and fancy dishes. The spread surpassed anything that has ever been gotten up at the club-house. The usual time was spent at table, partaking of the choice viands and listening to the reading of telegrams from all parts of the country. At the conclusion of the banquet the guests repaired to the dancing hall, where a fine orchestra of twenty instruments discoursed excellent music for those desiring to enjoy the waltz. The festivities were continued until a late hour.
Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Longini departed for the East, and will take a European trip before their return to this city.
