Babbit’s Alkalies.
In another column will be found the card of F. Edwards, wholesale dealer in Babbit’s well known alkalies, at 146 South Water street. Babbit’s alkalies, including saleratus, soap powder, potash—prepared in cans, coucentrated lye and erasive soaps, are already in extensive use and bear the very highest reputation of any alkalies in the market. Of the potash we can speak knowingly, as it has long been in use in the Tribune establishment, and have no hesitancy in thoroughly recommending it to manufacturing interests requiring its use. The soaps and saleratus are of the finest and purest quality, neatly put up in packages for immediate use. A trial of their merits will at once give satisfaction, and we advise such of our readers and the public in general who would shun the base alkaline drugs with which the market is flooded, and furnish themselves with a genuine article, to procure samples and try them. We are convinced that one trial will ensure constant use. Mr. Edwards, as a business man, is well and favorably known in this community, aud the simple announcement that these valuable alkalies may be obtained at his establishment is a sufficient guaranty of their genuinenes, and will prove an inducement to the public to call and purchase.

BUSINESS ENTERPRISE.—We notice that a directory of Kansas and Nebraska is being prepared by T. A. Holland & Co., of 146 South Water street, Chicago, which is promised to contain historical and descriptive sketches of all the cities, towns and villages in the above-named States, in addition to the usual directory matter. It will be a valuable work to business men.
