Rare daguerreotype view of the funeral cortege of President Lincoln approaching the north entrance. The Lincoln Special train left Washington on 21 April 1865 and by the time the train reached Chicago, the body was beginning to deterioate to the point where viewers were visibly distressed at its appearance. This train also introduced the Pullman luxury car.
