A number of German citizens of West Chicago have petitioned the West Side Park Commissioners to give to the Northern Park, bordering North and Chicago avenues, the name of Humboldt Park. A bust or Humboldt, and a Humboldt monument will then be placed in the park.

The West Side Parks.
The West Side Park Commissioners held s meeting on Wednesday evening in their rooms, on the corner of Randolph and Carpenter streets, at which a full Board was present.
A communication from several citizens, requesting that the park located between Grand and North avenues be called “Humboldt Park,” and that permission be granted to erect a bronze bust of Humboldt—subscriptions having been taken up already to pay the expenses—was read by the Secretary. The matter was laid on the table.
