Early Chicago

In the foregoing pages, we have limned a sketch of the Chicago horizons of yesterday – a panorama full of photographic memories, filled with significance. And now there remains to people that panorama, to place in their proper settings, the men and women who have played their parts in the perennial drama known as Chicago.

Without the efforts of these key people, Chicago would never have become the world class city it is today. It is indeed the City of Big Shoulders.
